ALVIN, TEXAS – Energy, effort, and attitude – such is the philosophy of new hoops head coach Chris Iles and on full display during a recent visit to open gym at Alvin High School. Bringing an impeccable resume including regional and international experience, Coach Iles is hoping to put his stamp on the hoop’s program and imprint his passion on young players.

Looking to hit the ground running, Coach Iles and his staff have been taking advantage of the new UIL rule that allows two hours per week of focused, sport-specific interaction with returning players. “The new UIL rule has been very helpful”, said Iles. “It allows incoming freshmen and other players to learn our practice program which saves time when the season starts in the fall.”
